Oh, hai there.
I thought I’d take some time out of my busy work schedule to introduce you to my latest project: Split the Rock! How considerate of me. Really.
Even when I’m spending six months in a constant state of euphoria and awe while travelling Europe, it’s always good to come home. And every time that plane approaches the dramatic and slightly terrifying coastline of my island’s east coast, I get butterflies in my tummy. Things are special here. I’d like to show you.
My roommate and killer video producer friend Michael Ciuffini and I are pairing up to travel to some of my favourite Newfoundland destinations this summer. Tomorrow, he and my long lost BFF Cailin O’Neil (you might know her, yeah?) will be the VERY FIRST of my friends to visit me in my hometown, Bay d’Espoir. I’m about to show them what rural Newfoundland is all about. Even if I’m still trying to figure that out myself. Either way, it involves beers, fire pits, ATV rides, and mummering.
Moving on, we’ll make our way to Twillingate for the annual Folk Fest, while stopping over in one of my favourite places in the whole wide world: Change Islands. They have tiny ponies. OMG.
After that, it’s off to the east coast and the Avalon for more big adventure. But more about that later. If you’re a Newfoundlander or Labradorian or simply a passer-by who wants to get stupid on camera, let me know. Join in. It’s magical.
This is a work in progress and we’ll be travelling until we’re poor. Newfoundland and Labrador can’t be encompassed in one video. YOU WILL LOVE IT.
So here it is, my intro! That was rather long-winded, wasn’t it? I’ve also realized I seriously need to SLOW IT DOWN on camera. Sorry about that. I blame the Irish.
JOIN ME! MY LIFE HAS MEANING AGAIN! #SplittheRock.
Love,
Candice.
